Pastor Laura Auten
Welcome to South Point UMC! I am blessed to serve as pastor among the people who are called South Point United Methodist Church. I'm in my 34th year of ministry. My husband Jeff and I love to travel, take walks, and spend time with the many children in our lives. Jeff endures my love of reading and crafts! We like ice cream, Netflix, and serving together.

Ministries
South Point UMC has a long history of mission and ministry. Monthly, we collect food and toiletry items for the Belmont Community Organization.
A group of ladies meet each Monday evening at 5:30pm to crochet and pray. Prayer shawls are available for you to share with friends, family, and neighbors in need.
Bible studies are held through the week at various times and in various seasons. Watch for updates in the newsletter and on Facebook.
United Women in Faith meet for prayer and for supporting mission locally and globally.

Beliefs
We believe...
+in one God who is revealed as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
+in the mystery of salvation through Jesus Christ. God became human in Jesus Christ whose life, death, and resurrection demonstrate God's redeeming love for the world.
+in the Holy Spirit as God's present activity in our midst. When we sense God's leading, challenge, support, or comfort, it is the Holy Spirit at work.
+Genesis 1:27 asserts that we've been made in the image of God. Like God we have the capacity to love, communicate, and create. As human beings, we also fail to live as people created in the image of God. We fall short, miss the mark, and sin. We stand in need of God's grace, forgiveness, and salvation.
+the church is the Body of Christ, an extension of Christ's life and ministry in the world today.
+the Bible is the primary authority for our faith and practice.
+that all people are created in the image of God and stand in need of God's grace.
+that all people have a calling in their life to love God and to love neighbor.
